13,002 Reps From 12 Steemians After 33 Days - The Steem Daily 100 Rep Fitness Challenge - 50 Push-ups & 50 Squats - Day 34
We have the new concept/opportunity of "team reps" so more people can participate.
For example, @soyrosa recently did 30 air squats, and @crimsonclad supplemented this with 54 squats and 16 push-ups to complete the 100-rep challenge as a unit.
I think this is awesome and encourage more of this so people don't feel intimidated. The goal is to be happy, proud, and healthy from this exercise and participation.
In other words, those who can't do 100 reps can participate in comfortable sets as they ramp up while teammate(s) cover the difference.
Uh oh... excuses are thinning!
Adding high level charts to better display everyone's stats and progress.
I audited all entries for these charts and made a few minor corrections.
It's not a competition between people, but it's one with ourselves to improve our health and wellness.
Day 33 Results: 320 reps from 3 Steemians for Tues EST, 9/17.
- @steemmatt (US) - 100
- @rmsbodybuilding (UK) - 100
- @khufu (AUSTRALIA) - 120
Talk is cheap. Actions matter. Thank you for being involved!
My 9/17 Reps & Feedback: 30 push-ups & 70 squats
I broke these up into 2 sections, spaced out by my curb recycling walk. I'm getting so much stronger and it's a good feeling. My triceps and calves are also the best shape they've been in in as long as I can remember. I also see a nice difference the broadness of my chest and front shoulder caps.
Staying true to balancing out my reps with pull exercises, I also did 33 75 pound bar curls and 22 shrugs. I'll probably hit the gym tonight now that my back has recovered from that vicious knot I had in it from lifting a 60 pound printer I found on the curbs last week.
Dinner was light with just a chicken salad sandwich. That's like an appetizer to me when I'm in workout mode.
Today's Highlights:
- @rmsbodybuilding continues to reinvent the challenge with difficult modified reps built into his workout. To those who feel this interferes with their normal workouts, this is how you do it!
What's the challenge?
50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just reach 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link, or video. We're on the honor system.
*Team entries are now accepted.
If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!
To people new, see the kickoff post linked below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.
This is for your health. Why not try to join us just once to see how it goes?
To any interested Steemians who want more info/background: *Please see this link from the kickoff post for details.
Everyone please support and encourage the team here. They're working hard to build a community the hard way. It's about the bigger picture.
Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Don't have your elbows too wide on the floor. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.
Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.
Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.
We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.
Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here, and you will see and feel results.
Rep on,
@steemmatt
P.S. - Please use the fitnesschallenge tag if you can.
I really didn't feel like doing anything today but I got them done anyway between sets of weighted pullups and kettlebell presses etc. If it wasn't for this challenge I probably would have slacked off.
4x15 of each.
120 reps total.
That's the spirit. I can't tell you how many times I've felt that way too late at night, but that's why you've done 3,232 reps push-ups/squats in 26 days. You win.

The challenge used as warm-up.
Workout.
10 push press 12kgx2
10 16kgx2
10 20kgx2
10 24kgx2
6 28kgx2
3 32gx2
3 reps with 36kgx2
and the old bastard(me) cleaned those 40kgx2(next time push press)
Smart. When I'm at the gym, I've been using it as filler while I'm resting other muscle groups. Also keeps the heart rate up. This just goes to show that what is hard for many is a warmup for you... because you've invested in your body to make it that way. Just be ready to live to 150 years though.
Ima tell my new guy in the Navy to power up and get with the program asap woooo!
Will get em done in a few hours! <3
The ship sailed for today. Gettem next time!!
gonna log them in today, been out of town for a few days. :)
