Countdown to Halloween--Pumpkin Exercise of the Day #7!

Welcome to day number 7 in my pumpkin exercise series.  By the time Halloween rolls around we'll have enough exercises to make up a solid total body workout if we put them all together!

Today we are back to some upper body work.  This is a little similar to the ups and outs from day 3, but there is not an overhead press component to this variation and we are adding a pivot.  I think an appropriate name would be a pumpkin pivot push-out. ;)

Start standing upright with the pumpkin at chest level in front of you.

Pivot to your left, pushing the pumpkin straight out from your body.

Bring the pumpkin back to the start position, then repeat to the other side.

Continue the movement for a full minute then rest.  If you want to challenge your arms and shoulders even more, add a push each time you go to a side.  So the first time pivot and push once, then move to the other side.  The next repetition before returning to center bring the pumpkin back in close to the body then push out again.  Continue adding on each repetition until the time is up.

Haha love this! I see you post vegan recipes too, I am on a low FODMAP and SIBO diet right now so keeping an eye out for blogs like this as they are easier to adjust recipes with the restrictions :)
