PROPER BACK PULL-UPS
Hey everyone! This is my first post in a series of form guides.
There are a lot of different versions of pull ups, but being able to engage the proper muscles each step of the way is important to create optimal strength and prevent overuse injuries.
- Always start with a hang with shoulders fully extended
- Engage core
- Pull shoulder blades down and in towards your ribs
- Engage the lats
- Bend the elbows
- Pull up the rest of the way using your arms
- Return to a hang and repeat
Start with the assisted machine (as I demonstrate above) until you can master this move on your own.
