Gym buddies

So I've been going to the gym lately. And what has come to my attention is that a lot of people there have gym buddies. I like the concept of working out together because it helps you stay motivated and makes the workouts more fun because it has a social component.

But the word gym buddy, I mean it sounds like you're five years old and need help to go to the bathroom. It sounds really cute but should a grown man be cute? I don't think so.

So I think we need to come up with a new word for gym buddy. I think it should be iron comrad or something like that. Sounds a lot more bad ass to me than gym buddy.
