Running a mile under 6 minutes (My Journey in dropping 1 full minute) Second run
Surprisingly I did not feel as good on this run as I felt on the first run. I wanted to give up around the half way mark but the thought of this blog and letting you guys down helped me tough it out. The 0.70 - 0.80 mile marker was the hardest as it was the uphill run right before the downhill leg.
Happy with the time drop of a full 12 seconds and looking forward to the next run. Kind of......
Chase after those goal and see you guys next run!

Keep on running. Good luck!
That's great! I really need to get back into running and regular exercise. I think my best, in high school, was a 5:10 or 5:20 mile. 26 years later... I'd be doing good to run an 8-minute mile. :/
I just broke the big 3-0. My best was in middle school at 5:25. Just want to show others that if you put your mind to things, you can do things you wouldn't expect.
Even in the Army i wasn't into running. Hated it actually. I could never get synched with my breathing pattern. One time, after about 4 miles, I got it, then they wanted to end the run, I was like hell no! Even jumped out of formation to call cadence for another 2 miles lol. Haven't done it since.
Maybe 4 MI is my mark to get breathing synched, but F-that. 2 mi test, I endured 2 mi of misery twice a year.
Kudos to you, I did 8 min mi.
but, put a 100lb ruck on my back and I can do 12 mi in 3 hrs. well could.... Nevertheless rooting for ya here! upvote too :)
Thanks! if I hit a plateau, I might consider running with added weights for a week or two.
Very interesting, thanks for posting - Subbed!
Thanks! Will keep you all posted!
