Running a mile under 6 minutes (My Journey in dropping 1 full minute) First Run
tl;dr - 7:08 for my first mile. I pushed myself hard and it did not feel good. On a positive note, I finished without walking and did not slow down too much. 1:09 more to drop before this goal is complete! Please upvote and resteem to spread the motivation!

My first run. This run was to set the foundation and boy did it suck. I pushed myself and felt like crap but I needed to know where my body was at time wise and how much time i needed to drop to reach sub 6 minute.
I structure my run to start on infront of my house and I finish it on my block with about a 1-2 minute walk back home. The last 1/4 mile is all down hill so it forces my legs to move faster. This helps me with increasing my RPM and I need to be able to move my legs faster in order to run faster. Sometimes it's a bit hard to push yourself when your in so much pain but this downhill run pretty much bypasses that.
I recorded a before and after video that i'm thinking about uploading to Youtube and sharing here as well but I am a bit camera shy. If you guys would like to see it, feel free to let me know as the whole point is to document everything on my journey so myself and others can learn as well. I'm considering a go pro video as well but i don't think anyone actually wants to watch a video of me running for 6 minutes popping up and down.
7:08 for my first mile.
