Running a mile under 6 minutes (My Journey in dropping 1 full minute) 4th run

It's been raining all week so it's been a bit difficult to run outside. I managed to run Monday after the rain but every day after it was either too wet or still raining. I ended up hitting up the gym the first time in a month yesterday and ran on the treadmill. Treadmill runs are usually faster than outside runs but this time it wasn't the case. I was expecting to run a 6:45 or faster. I ended up running a 6:59. It may be because I took 5 full days off before my next run but half way through the run, I could feel a stomach cramp building up around 1/4 a mile and ended up slowing down around 1/2 mile. My 1/2 mile time was 3:47 and my second half mile I kicked it up and finished in 3:12. Overall not a good mile and had a slight cramp after I finished.
I don't really count this run as this wasn't outside but I do need to keep my body running if i want to maintain and improve me runs.

Nice! I like this series you're doing. I never really trained for the mile, but I've been fascinated lately by how fast some people can run. I think the 2 mile record is actually under 8 minutes now..... :s
I tried a fast one mile about a week ago just for kicks, and I must have gone way to fast, because I ended up walking with about 1/4 mile to go, haha :p

Thanks. I appreciate the support. Goal is still sub 6 minute mile hopefully before end of July. Just want to show people that if you put your mind to something, you can do great things.
