MOVE MOB - Movement May - First update for one Aussie Ninja
Hello hello,
Welcome to my first individual post for the Move Mob... a #fitnation initiative to get Steemians moving for the month of May. I'll send out an updated one of these guys with all the people to update with all the moving they're doing.
This post, however, is my entry.
Even though running is not at all my thing, I bravely signed up to Team Blue only to have Cyclone Linny force me to embiggen the distances... so I'm now intending to crush 100kms in the Month of May.
Here is how I'm going so far:
May 1 | May 2 | May 3 | May 4 | May 5 | May 6 | May 7 | May 8 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2.86 | 3.89 | 4.18 | 6.23 | 7.63 | 6.18 | 0.42 | 1.96 |
The above table is all in kilometers.
I pretty much hate big runs... I find them boring and uncomfortable... but this is something I'm going to have to work towards now that I'm suddenly training for a Spartan Sprint (20 obstacles over 8kms).
You might not be aware, but May has 31 days which means I need to do a minimum of 3.1 kms per day. My 8 day total so far is 33.35 kms which gives me a 4.16 km daily average. 8 is nearly 25% of 31, but I'm about a 3rd of the way through my 100kms, so I'm totally on track:
If you're looking for some extra motivation, jump into our little May challenge... pick a team and get out and move.
If you're looking for some extra extra extra motivation, hang out with Run Burgundy created by the heaps clevs @mstafford.

Ahhh running, not my forte either! Lol I’ll definitely check it out the may challenge tho! Haha out of all of those swimming might be the best choice.. I don’t suppose you can track how far you dance right LOL
Awesome! You actually totally can... I've got the Fitbit One which is tiny and you could totally clip it to your top or shorts while pole dancing... or the Fitbit Zip might work too. It converts all your activities to a distance, so you could totally jump on in to Move Mob.
Otherwise, totally pick a distance to swim or ride (or, blurgh, run) and we'll make a new group for you if we need...
Ok! Let me brainstorm and think on this, Karen did get me a fitness tracker that I haven’t quite used yet. 😝 I need to see how it will work
Thanks for the shout-out, dude! Usually if I get called heaps of something, it's certainly not clever.
Excited about the @RunBurgundy project, and I think EVERYONE should join.
It's an automated system that Tally's the total KM's of Running & Cycling (I think there's support for swimming, @polebird -- but I personally don't have a waterproof anything to track that sort of stuff with -- so I can't test it).
Every Sunday, just before midnight (Pacific Standard Time -- West coast best coast, baby!) -- it'll check how many KM's each user submitted during the PREVIOUS week (due to posts taking 7 full days to close).
It'll then distribute the SBD rewards of the weeks worth of posts proportionally based on KM's contributed.
That's it, that's all! Get paid (arguably, not much at this point in time) to exercise!
SP rewards will be used to power up @RunBurgundy and it'll begin voting on posts tagged w/ #FitNation as long as you're a member of the group.
Let me know if you want to join. Talk to myself, or @aussieninja... But since I'm the one with the keys, I'll have to get @RunBurgundy to follow you.
Lol! I don’t have anything to track it either except by counting laps.. hmmm good point
I'm not in favor of big runs either, but I really enjoy running in nature, but no more than 45 minutes, usually 30 minutes.
Wish you the best with your daily runs.
I think this is pretty cool and it would definitely motivate me to run more if I had to do 100km in one month.
Man, good for you! I think big runs are boring, too. I only want to run if something/ someone is chasing me. Or, if I'm angry...it seems to burn off anger haha.
Wow you are exellent man, i see you in this photo very strong and healty. I hope to you keep stamina and keep smile so i hope to god give you succes
