The difference between Collage & Montage
Both techniques are closely linked as they use different media together with different artistic techniques.
Montage is described as an art form that consists of putting together a multitude of smaller pictures or pieces of pictures to create some larger work, made out of one medium.
Today only few artists declare their works as "Montage", they all make "Collages", if this is because of the lack of knowledge about the term or only because it sounds more artistic, I couldn't figure out yet...
Collage is a picture that uses elements coming from all kind of different places, mostly fragments of other whole pieces, being assembled together in a new way that nobody had thought of before, using different mediums, such creating a new whole and artistic piece, no logic involved.

That's a great collage, everything fits so smoothly in thrilling b&w. I also love this technique of old-print-in-dots, I can't recall the proper word now. It's always nice to know more about the definitions of those techniques. A friend of mine uses parts of other pictures from magazines, or his own print-outs, and combines them to create projects of a unique style. I guess it is collage, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :) You may check his art out: @georgeboya.
