After the Golden Globe for the best debut in the movie "Stay Hungry" Arnold Schwarzenegger probably received a lot of proposals for the shooting. But he seemed to choose films on the principle “Will there be bodybuilding there? And will I be able to pull up my fellow bodybuilders?”, And if the answer was positive, he agreed without reading the script.

In the series "Streets of San Francisco" for the five seasons of its existence, a lot of guest stars appeared. Arnold appeared in him when the series was already "breathing its last" after the departure of Michael Douglas from the title role, on May 5, 1977, in the 115th episode of the 119, which was called Dead Lift. As soon as they do not translate this name into Russian, and "Thrust", and "Dead Weight" and even "Deadly Lift". Apparently, not all translators know that deadlift in one word means deadlift. So, Schwarzenegger, who is sometimes called the bodybuilding ambassador, as handsome as Appolon ... yes there Apollo, like the young Vysotsky, in this series, as in other roles, advertises bodybuilding. But in a strange way.

Arnold plays a man obsessed with bodybuilding, but at the same time extremely unbalanced, if not a psychopath. Because of his attacks of aggression, Schwarzenegger's hero loses his job and constantly needs money. Most of all he gets mad when someone laughs at his body. And how can you not laugh, if a hefty man, posing not on stage during the competition, but at home, under the light of a floor lamp, rubbing with child butter, really looks ridiculous. Arnold deliberately over-pulled in this scene. And when the girl laughed at him, he shook her too much.

Arnold plays not a complete psycho. He is calm and polite, until someone starts making fun of bodybuilders. Surely in reality, Schwarzenegger had to listen to a lot of ridicule about the puffed up muscles and the sexual orientation of bodybuilders, and in the film he lets out that which “has boiled”. However, with the naked eye it can be seen that playing the psychopath and the killer Arnold is uncomfortable. Having committed the murder, his hero repents and even tries to surrender to the police.

As in the two previous films, "Stay Hungry" and "Pumping Iron", the hero of Arnold participates in the competition of bodybuilders, but only takes second place. Among the competitive extras, familiar bodybuilders are already noticeable, following up on Arnie from movie to movie, for example, Franco Colombo. In this photo, Schwarzenegger during a competitive performance noticed that someone in the audience was laughing at him.

Compared to the previous two roles, participation in the series is a step back in the film career of Arnold. You can see only for the sake of the collection.
