Tira-tira is one of many Filipino or Tagalog words that are repeated to convey the meaning or to pluralize the word. What is tira-tira?

Tira-tira means leftover foods or leftover meals. Notice that the nouns mentioned are pluralized. While tira is used to refer to just one kind of food, using tira-tira means there are more than one food as a leftover.

Examples
Ang daming tira-tira sa fridge.
There's a lot of leftovers in the fridge.

Ayaw niya kumain ng tira-tira.
She/He doesn't want to eat leftovers.
