They look delicious! I'd love to grow figs, but I live in a temperate climate, so I don't think they'd do well.

Thanks for the reply @aenor !
The fig tree is quite strong, I am from Romania and from autumn till winter we just take care of the branches and fruit and the tree is just fine.
Ok sometimes in the summer it gets attacked be ants but...we spray it it lemon little bit (not with pestiside never use that).
If you want for your garden I recommend it, and to be onest it is such a wonder as you see him grow bigger and bigger.

But I haven't tested it never in my life! The shame to me! ))

my mom loves to eat them :)

Oh yeah they are very good and each year I wait untill they are just right to eat and I start to collect them, but it is a race againts other birbs who sit an wait for the same thing, so we have to be fast.

I have never seen a wild fig in its natural habitat unill today .

Thankyou .

I recommend this for all to use either in jam or just to eat the fruit!
When comes end of each september comes this beautifull smell from the figs and we need to be fast because olso the birds like eating them too.

@cynetic, I have to upvote again, that look on your face and your love of gardening reminds me of @meesterboom and @papa-pepper but I've read it on your post that you actually are from Romania so it can't be right?
ahahahah -

Yep that is correct I am from Romania!
I love your posts too I just followed now!

O yeah they are very good and healthy for you!

Lovely post. A fig is a very generous tree...it gives and gives. Thank you for posting. They make delicious jams. Have you tried drying them,? It seems it would be a sticky business. Cheers.
Thank you for your support.

Thanks @bleujay for your coment!
We had some dried ones and now we made some jam too but it seems the tree it still making new ones and this is awesome! This year was a good year!

Thank you @cynetyc for your reply. If you do not mind my asking, how did you go about drying them?
So glad to hear the fig tree has had quite a few figs with more to come. Cheers.
Thank you for your support.

For a quick way I use a drier and for that you need to do the following:
Ok so gather some nice figs.
Wash them with care then prick them with a stick (toothpick) in several places and placed side by side on barbecue grill drying (drier)
machine.

Place each grill so that they do not touch each other, push each fig in part to we have flattened sits nicely on the first grill and put next barbecue over and continue the operation to fill all grids device.

Start the dryer and leave two days and two nights or until dry but fruit ditch gummy, soft.

Remove, let it cool and store in cardboard between paper towels. In plastic or metal box is not kept well because there is ventilation through the container walls. Cardboard leaves the possibility of a mild ventilation and that way we can keep them months and months.

Another way is just by leaving them on a table and covering them in a simple cloth and then just leave them in the sun.... but this method works summer time and ...to be onest takes more time and olso you need to pay more attention if the figs inside the cloth are ok, because the fluctuations of the temperature can cause to appear fungus!

Thank you @cynetyc. How very kind of you to give such clear instructions. It sounds complicated, nevertheless it is on the 'Must Try' list. I wish you well.

I bet they didn't stand a chance, a totally one-sided confrontation.

Ha ha ha, you are right It was more bad then Texas Chainsaw massacre, I just killed those figs!

I declare a winner, and have upvoted accordingly. I urge all right-minded Steemians and whales to do likewise.

Thank you @richardjuckes for the kind words you wrote!
You made me curious and I checked your blog, one simple word : Followed!
