Ruby gasped as the large serpent rose from the depths of the sea. It towered above them, fixing her with its cold stare. Terror froze her to the spot.

Jared stood beside her, clutching the dragon hatchling in his arms. He pulled on her arm, breaking the trance. “Mom, run!”

I started early with my #fiftywords entry for @jayna’s challenge, continuing the Dragon Egg saga. The prompt for this week is "run". I might write another one this week, just for the fun of it, haha. Thanks for keeping this challenge alive, @jayna!!

Oops! Can't they catch a break? Loving this dragon-filled world wrought with danger. Looking forward to more of these, seeing where it goes with the egg hatched.

Hehehe, I'm really loving it, too. And each 50 word installment is giving me more clues about the story, so they should help me when I finally sit down and delve into the world and characters more. I'm sensing another fantasy novel on the horizon.

Now if I could just finish my other fantasy novel....
