Leaves a lot to the imagination. One is the simple move from our electricity powered earth back to the time before we had electricity. Another followin to this story, these spring shaped organisms consuming also the light coming from fire which actually leeds to a intergalactic story, since the Sun and all the stars need to be taken out of our universe; I picture quite a funny story already.
