Nice twist to this story! I've often wondered why we're so confident that opposable thumbs were the key to developing intelligence. Why wouldn't wings do it, like you said? Or something else entirely?

You need to have some dexterity to actually design and manufacture your own tools, right?
We know a few species being able to use tools but the early human was still somewhat different. Instead of reasonably adapting to nature and using the means given to him, the human did the unreasonable thing - starting to adapt nature to him by creating tools...
