They came furiously, ready to fight to death. There was some tiredness on their faces, deep, heavy and exhausting that reached the bones. The same one you carry with you to the grave, and follows you as the best friend and curse every second in your life.

They were tired from ride, but this did not stop them from joining our guard posts and the order we set up on the slope of the Hill. We were all awake, although the night did not fade yet. We all waited for the news, any news sad or happy, just enough important to get us out of this terror and despair. We needed hope in any shape.

It is difficult, the lava continued to leak across the slopes and cover the roofs of our houses, the paved streets of our city. The Temples and the Schools were destroyed, all openings to the mines buried and filled with newly emerging soil. The mountain was not happy with us nor forgiving. Many lost their lives in that first attack, children, women, soldiers. The only thing that managed to preserve the majority of our people's lives was the discipline with which we lived and on that basis, we succeeded to quickly organize and leave our city.

Our brothers say it was the worst and most painful scene a person can experience. From a safe distance, everyone looked with horror at the place of our lives, the place of origin and the sources of all our forces. This ancient place disappears in front of their eyes, and how this destruction involves a part of history, and a part of our souls. Breaking the soul. They tell us that even our magicians could not do anything about that. They died by many because they stood at the top of the mountain, and from there they tried to give the last effort to save our city. Everything now left behind our once magnificent city is the new face of the Mountain. Purged of our sin. Great sin, though no one was sure what that sin was.

All of our people headed south, because we could not go through the mountain. South, where nothing except weeds and poisonous reptiles grows. Territory where there is but one river only, one that dries up to three months a year. A cruel environment for a cruel nation. The people pounded with strong winds of time, disasters and life tragedies.

The trouble was that everything we ever knew related to life on that slope of the Mountain. All the crafts, knowledge of plants and medicine, knowledge of the processing of ore and digging of mines. And now our new torture awaits. We have to recapture ourselves, as a broken sword, we must smith our society again.

The orders were to refuse another attack, and than ride back fast, to meet our refugees for seven days at the beginning of the Endless Desert, and from there we will go on to the unknown.

These news has hit us and shaken us from the roots of our beings. We have defended a city that no longer exists, a legacy that is concealed from the face of the earth. The Council of our Commanders made the decision not to attack. We will maintain here, a well-positioned and carefully monitor the movements of the enemy. We were expecting them to attack us again, without delay. We are sure that they did not know about the misfortune that had hit us, otherwise they would have turned their course of attack and returned from where they came from.

The trouble was that we did not notice any moves that would indicate that another attack follows, and we did not have much time to wait. We had to get in time to reach the agreed place, otherwise everyone would think that nobody of us survived.

There was a thunderstorm, without any clouds in sight. It's like the sky is crumbling to our heads. Earthquakes passed through our bodies and everything in the surroundings, earth, trees, stones. Something big, bigger than ourselves is coming and carrying destruction with itself.

At the same time, we noticed the organized movements of their army. Setting up for the attack. Thunder, and the wrath of the Gods, passed through the entire battlefield.
