An Interview With Eddie
eddie.JPG
Many thanks to @grisvisa and @eddiespino for supplying a copy of the official fan club portrait of Eddie van der Deeken for this magazine.

As you all know by now, Eddie van der Deeken is a rising star of the Clockwork Arena. His determination and skill to become UltimaCorp's top fighter has seen him leave many bodies in his wake; and he achieved greatness incredibly with no weapons or armour at his disposal!
Before he sauntered off to line up his next victim, we were able to ask him a few tough questions.

Interviewer: As an adventurer, have you led a life of hardship or privilege?
Eddie: Definitely hardship, but I’ve lived a lot of happy moments with my mates.
Interviewer: How often do you train, and what is your routine?
Eddie: I train three times a week. I like to do random stuff, sometimes I lift, sometimes I swim.
Interviewer: What do you eat for breakfast before a big battle?
Eddie: Breakfast is for pussies I eat twice a day and I like to feast with a chicken sandwich.
Interviewer: Do you have any pets?
Eddie: I have three parrots.
Interviewer: What do you do for fun?
Eddie: I like to tease parrots by poking my finger on their beak.
(At this point, we take a break while Eddie shows me his parrots. He is training one to peel potatoes in the kitchen. He makes us each a delicious Coke Float to snack on. Then we return to the interview.)
Interviewer: What do you think of UltimaCorp?
Eddie: Hmmm corporations are evil. I like evil.
Interviewer: What is your favourite weapon?
Eddie: I don’t need weapons. I’m kidding I need one… or two.
Interviewer: If you were allowed into the laboratory, what would you create?
Eddie: A weapon and a set of armour.
Interviewer: What are your dreams for the future?
Eddie: My dream is to reach level 20 and finally get a weapon and a set of armour. I’m tired of fighting naked all the time and my knuckles are getting swollen because of people's faces.
Interviewer: Do you have a motto, or a battle cry?
Eddie: My battle cry would be: “Ayayayayayaii”
(At this point the interview is brought to an abrupt close as Eddie runs off through the Arena doors, screaming his battle cry. I think he'd spotted his next opponent.)
Best of luck, Eddie.

From the handbook on A Steempunknet Weapons Portrait, written by @lennstarr we found in the archives, we would like to remind our readers of the usefulness of these gems.
Here is an excerpt from his book, regarding the Pascal's Phaser:

If you aren't already packing one of those bad-boys in your arsenal, then we suggest you order one - or several - pronto.

Finally, we would like to offer some book recommendations, for the keen Steempunk enthusiast.

London, 1898. The Victorian Era draws to a close and the twentieth century approaches. It is a time of great change and an age of stagnation, a period of chaste order and ignoble chaos. It is an era in need of champions. source

Prince Aleksander, would-be heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, is on the run. His own people have turned on him. His title is worthless. All he has is a battletorn war machine and a loyal crew of men.source

It is always a good idea to keep some reading material handy while on those long airship voyages.

an awesome MMORPG blockchain game you can play simply by doing the things you normally do on Steemit; and it doesn't matter what your rep level is, everyone has an equal chance of winning battles and collecting loot.
So if you want to know more about the project and maybe joining a Guild for extra fun and support, enter the discord invite server, follow the welcome guides, and get your game on.
You can battle your friends, or find new opponents to annihilate in the Clockwork Arena.

I still can't find a weapon, but I'm having a lot of success on the arena.

Thank you for posting this interview @ravenruis. I had a lot of fun answering the questions. My girlfriend just posted a video about the process of the illustration.

It's in Spanish, but you can see step by step:

Wow, cool! It was fascinating to watch the process. Very clever. :)

Great interview! :D

And more to come .. ;)
