Thank you @f3nix for the feedback and encouragement. Yes, there is a distinct repetition of certain imagery from one prompt installment to the next. I'm doing this on purpose, as you say, to create a sort of moebius loop. I have an idea where it is all going but given the main characters state of 'altered' consciousness, I wanted to create a sort of fractal impression with the way he interacts with the world. A blurring between the real and hallucinated happenings. Thanks for reading and for your meaningful feedback. I've just published an author's reading of all 6 current parts, with some crazy visual effects which you might like if you liked the style of prose in this part.
I will check that now. From the perspective of the circular structure, this reminds me of one of my favorite literary works, the Black Tower saga from S. King.
WOW. You really capture the visuals with this one. I'm impressed! What a great freewrite.
Also, today I am running a bit late, but I’m here in a rush of spastic, distracted thoughts to deliver Today’s Daily Prompt for the freewrite. Feel free to join us if you have the time and thank you for joining us today! It is such an awesome community to be a part of and now we have a new page with contests, new challenges and even more community:
Thanks @byn. Yeah, I'm trying to splice poetry+fiction into one in a kinda surreal visual journey. I'm enjoying the freedom of experimentation it's inspiring in my writing. It's all down to the beauty of the timed freewite stopping me from over editing, or second guessing myself all the time. :-)
I find this scene delicate and melancholic.. also your freewrite-loop idea is very intriguing, like a narrative Moebius ribbon.
