Part 2
Proton was going to propose that day but something very unexpected happened.
Miss Electron excused herself to go the washroom and Proton started making arrangements for the big moment. He had asked the waiter to put the ring in a glass of wine and when she would feel the ring, rose petals will fall on her from the chandelier.
It has been 5 minutes since she went to the washroom but hasn't returned yet. Proton started to worry but shrugged it off thinking he was just being nervous.
Another 15 minutes passed and there was no sign of her. He was worried. Beads of perspiration started to form on his forehead. He then decided to check is she was okay.
When he reached the washroom, there was no sign of her. The window was open and near it was the necklace She always wore. He picked it up and kept it in his pocket. And just like that, she was gone.
He searched the entire restaurant, her hotel, his home and the whole town of s-orbital too. But there was no sign of her.
Only now the realisation dawned upon her that she was gone.
His whole life had changed just in a matter of seconds. All his dreams were shattered.
He came home with a heavy heart and drank a lot! He had soon become a regular drinker. He stopped going out. He tried anything he could do to take his mind of her but failed everytime.
When he tries to sleep, an image of the shy smile of his beloved wakes him up and it keeps him awake all night.

Ok... I'm right here with you on this. Proton is a mess now, his life is in shambles, the girl of his dreams has disappeared and he is wallowing in self pity. What seems needed now is an event that causes him to stop pitying himself, clean himself up and be proactive about finding his true love, the girl of his dreams. The question seems to be, what is that event? The life changing event that causes him to question his actions, review his current state and rehabilitate himself. He is a total mess and completely unattractive at the time being. A rocky training session comes to mind... Seems to me there needs to be a phase of self improvement which could be quite humerous? A trip to h2o (the proton drug rehab center?), a zen meditation retreat in the mountains of the elemental chart?
Furthermore he needs to become a detective, look for clues of her disappearance. He might need to get his hands dirty and break a few neutrons?

I feel like this part is needed. You can't have a good love story if things go well all the way.
Again, I'm loving the way you are intertwining science with a love story. Personally I would like to see more science mixed up next time, even though I understand that there wasn't much to say on those regards on this part.

By the way, when I was studying cinema theory, my teacher told me that its ok to adopt certain genre stereotypes of storytelling because they work. They were studied and refined for years and years and became sucessful formulas for creators to convey their message in a more efficient way.

Rahul, you are doing great with the story. Will be waiting for the next part. I was hoping that the second part would be much more but I do like the suspense that you are trying to create in a simple story.
