I'm really torn. I think I like "The Guardian of Translantia" a little better than this one overall, but I definitely like several elements of this one too. Both have potential to be longer, more developed stories. Maybe you could go all Tolkein-esque and create an entire mythology surrounding Translantia. ;-)
Yeah, Tolkien was a linguist and anthropologist by training. So, probably not going down that road, LOL he invented ENTIRE languages!
