THE FIRE INCIDENT

Hello guys, @pasaift here. Decided to try my hand on story writing, came up with this.

Rose and Jade were still kids if avout 10 years of age when their mother passed on. She died in a fire incident that occurred at their house, A gas explosion in the kitchen. After the death of their mother, life in that house changed. Their father became a drunk who would always come home late at night smelling and staggering, and would then take out his frustration on the poor kids. One could say that this was the only way he could drown the pain of having to life without his wife, or should I say atonement for his sins. They barely talked about their mother death with their father.

Years passed and these children grew. They hated their father for his actions towards them, Carefree and his drinking habit. As teenagers they were forced to learn to struggle for themselves despite having a father. Though they all lived under the same roof. There came a time when Rose was terribly sick, she had gotten the flu. She was hospitalized, But due to lack of funds for the hospital bill, she didn't survive the health crises. This was heartbreaking for Jade, He felt like tearing the world down. Rose was the sunlight in his dark world, the only reason that kept him under the same roof with his father.

Jade decided to leave home knowing that he could survive without his father. when his father was out, he decided to break into his room and salvage anything he could find of his mother. His father's room looked rather messed up. This was actually the first time Jade was stepping foot into this room after his mother's death. He grabbed some pictures of her from a shelf. He opened a cupboard to find her jewelries and that was when a book fell out and opened. On its pages were scribbled "I must atone for my sins, I killed my wife " this was written all over the thick spine book that contained many leaves. This must have been something their father did when he was drunk.
