5 MINUTES FREEWRITE # SPEAKER

Samuel was a candidate for the position of speaker at the Senate. He was a well loved man, loved by everyone except his opponent Jude. Jude was a ruthless politician, he'd do anything it takes to win regardless of standards, as far as It ensured him victory. So he was quite pissed to hear that someone dared contest against him for the position of speaker. Jude believed that he could get anything he wanted.

Almost everyone was scared of Jude but not Samuel. He decided to stand up to make changes that would be beneficial to society as Jude has been speaker for two terms but no contribution to society. All he did was enrich his pockets. Election time was drawing near, and there was tension in the atmosphere, for James knew that if the election was held, he'd definitely loose.

Two days to election, news circulated that Samuel had been killed in his house. That the crime scene looked like a robbery gone bad. Everyone knew that Jude was behind this, but there was no evidence against him. Election came and Jude was elected speaker for a third term.
