On 15 July, Netflix debuted the eight episodes of the first season of "Stranger Things". All it took was a weekend (and with it the opportunity to watch all the episodes) for the series conquered enthusiastic fans.

"Stranger Things" has won discussion forums, gifs and is also being hailed by critics. The series, according to his admirers, it is a nostalgic dip into the atmosphere and culture of the 1980s.

The Basics 'Stranger Things'
"Stranger Things" is a series of mystery that takes place in the early 1980s - all cosmetic, costumes, hairstyles and soundtrack do not let the viewer forget that for a moment.

The story is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, in the State of Indiana, USA. It is a small suburban area of the American middle class, traditional setting of mystery series "The Twilight Zone" and "Twin Peaks," for example.

What's special about 'Stranger Things'
The fascination of fans with the new series can be explained by references, hundreds of them, stacked on characteristics of the characters, the plot, the costumes and the relationships between them.

There are implicit homage, but the explicit also appear. In the background of some scenes you can see, for example, posters of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King movies.

There are all the classic elements of film and literature of the 1980s, such as "The Goonies" and "E.T.": the strong friendship between children and the magic of discovery and acceptance that the fantastic can be real.

Stanley Kubrick also seems to be an inspiration in the themes, frameworks and scene sequences. And the monster series is very similar to "Alien, the eighth passenger", 1979.

The script do not forget to account for the eighties paranoia with communism, spies and the Cold War and also brings elements drawn directly from within the fantastic universe of Dungeons & Dragons, the most notorious of the world that had its heyday in the 1980s when it was released. One of the main characters, Will's mother, is played by actress Wynona Ryder, one of the decade icons.

"Poltergeist", 1982 "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," 1977, "Stand By Me," 1986 "Carrie," 1976, and even "The Breakfast Club", 1985, also seem have a portion of "fault" in the pop quilt patchwork that is "Stranger Things".
