LIFE AND THE BUTCHERED GOAT

Mr Ademola has always been an honest man. His basic means of income lies in the goats that he rears. His reputation had always been stained by this...the goat smells, the nickname of Mr goat slaughter and the rest. This particular incident don't really bothers him until recently.

In the land of Oteri village, there has always been an on going contest for generations. The beautiful ladies in the village comes out in thousand for the yearly beauty pageant parade. The winner of this contest automatically becomes a owner of a bungalow, a brand new car and a fixed man who is eligible enough to have solved the puzzle of the year contest.

So as the saying goes.... Ademola never tried. The reason be that his reputation as a goat rearer was a bad omen on it own. But something struck him one day. He was chosen to provide the goats for the occasion that particular year. It was a great year for him and his business. So he went. As he head towards the main gate of the competition ground with his goats, he saw some people gathered . He tied the goats to one end to took a pip at what would make the men in his community to be as quiet as a grave yard. As he came closer, he heard them moaning ...they were basically asking themselves what business took him there.

Ademola summons courage. He asked a friendly colleague to tell him what was happening . The young lad simply told him that they unable to an answer to the puzzle on ground. He asked...what was the question...the young lad said...." What was the relationship of king David first wife to him apart from her being his wife?". Ademola was shocked at the simplicity of the question so he went to the head council and raised his hands...but they wouldn't let him because he hasn't purchased the form of that particular contest . This he did and at the end he was allowed to air his view . He said the answer as thus, " Mariah was the sister to Jonathan ; David's beloved friend and only...beside been David's wife, she is the only sister to Jonathan ....and this is more valuable but beside this points, she was also the price tag he won from king Saul , Mariah father and Jonathans.

The judge was astounded ... They eventually pronounced him the winner but something didn't go well. The beauty pageant winner refused to accept him as her husband . Ademola was touched . He shock his head in disbelief and went on his duty of slaughtering the goats. As he cut open the belly of the first goat, he saw a lot of diamond on intestine ...he was surprise but couldn't shout....so he went to the other ....the same story ....and also until he BUTCHERED them all.... Ademola is made for life. The girl on the other end wasn't given her price because she couldn't fulfil the other part of the bargain.

In a few months later....Ademola became the richest man in Oteri community. He got married to the daughter of the president of his country. He was so rich that he hired the service of maids. Even the girl that denounced him as her suitor was among those he employed. He ever continued rearing his goats....since that what made him rich at first. Life they say has it turns and downs.....so basically don't ever mocks the present situation of another and when one make, one should not forget his first step.
