Letter from the Future (Part 1: nearby)
Gather around, esteemed Steemians.
Put on the glasses of illusion and take a ride with me to the imagined world of equality. We are on Planet Earth, it is 2020, but somehow things are very different! Let's wake the imaginative!
There is a first female president! And no, it is not in the U.S.! And yes, women surpassed the income of men. Two groundbreaking discoveries accomplished in a previous year were both done by an international team led by a woman. The first one successfully addressed the future-lack of water; the second might one day have a disastrous impact on the world. Well, yes we are women, but still just a human!
The world turned upside down in the past two years, leading to a significant wave of atheism since modern Homines Sapientes started to blame the weakened position of women on Christianity and men did not argue. The only accepted religion is Buddhism, but then that is not a religion but a way of life. The most popular one.
Allelujah! Oops, sorry, I take that last one back!
Stem cells - ethic or not - can now heal just about anything from a complete blindness to multiple sclerosis. We do not even need blood donors anymore; stem cells take care of everything! And in case you were wondering if the world became a much better place, there is still little change in our overall quality of life. We talk mostly via social media, if not exclusively. And the number of newborns are hitting a new low! Look at the horizon; we are getting there!
