Love is Eternal

"I love you," she told him, "even though you're a vampire. I will always love you, no matter what becomes of us."

"And you know that I love you."

Love is eternal, but flesh is not. Years passed, then decades. He was unable to mourn at her funeral, and though his heart no longer worked, he felt it had broken.

And every year, forever, on the anniversary of her death, he visited his mother's grave.
