“White Rose”
There was a girl walking in the street, all eyes focused on her. Boys are looking at her with desire, while girls have the envious look. Her name was Ma-an Yag, possessing an epitome beauty. She’s living in Talisay City. Everyone adores her. She has many suitors but no one captures her heart.
Until one day came, while walking on her way home from sapa pinggan, her favorite place. She almost hit by a passing bicycle, good thing that someone pulled her back, she collapsed on his top. Their eyes meet. She feels like the world stops and there are butterflies flying around her stomach, same feeling as to the boy. He’s name was Matty Puno. That day was the start of their friendship that turns to love. Matty decided to court Ma-an. the dating (knowing each other) stage took months, year. Ma-an decide to tell him tomorrow about her decision.
That night, after dinner, her mother call her “day Ma-an, come here, you have a visitor”. Downstairs she saw Perd Dugo, one of her suitors. Seeing him ruined her day. She really hates his guts and for being conceited, God knows how much she want to say to that he don’t have chance and she don’t love him but she didn’t know how tell him. When the guy left, she washed the plate they used during dinner. Thinking about Matty and her decision, suddenly a dark cat jump in front of her, the plate to slip from her hands, drop to the floor and broke apart, when she clean the mess, piece of the broken plate bled her hand. Ma-an wash her injured hand with soap but still the blood continues flowing.
The most awaited day came, her decision was final. On her way to their meeting place, she saw a white beautiful rose, looking at it, reminds her about Matty , the only man caught her heart. She held the flower without realizing that it has thorns, holding it bled her hands. She stared at the flower, it gradually turns wither. Ma-an feel nervous but was displaced by excitement.
She saw a man standing in front of the creek, it was Matty . She told him, her decision. Matty suddenly embraced her tightly. They’re both happy. Without knowing that there are pair of eyes been watching them, furious for what he saw, he will not allow anyone to have her. He drew the gun from his side and pointed it to the two. Loud sound created, at the same time, two bodies collapse. The man live the place without turning his head.
