Operation Bird Catcher

Captain Edward "Silk" Dana stalked around the flight deck of the Shadow, wanting to strangle somebody. His deep brown eyes smoldered as he stated, "I'll kill him."

The Free agent stopped and spun as a soft voice replied, "Relax dear, he has already been reassigned to the worst posting."

"Yeah?" Captain Dana didn't sound impressed.

"He's at Earth Station Babrusk." The soothing voice belonged to a beautiful brunette, his wife Jacqueline.

Dana stopped and ran his fingers through his curly brown hair and reasoned it through. "Maybe you're right," he said as he gazed into her hazel eyes and smiled.

Jackie smiled and joked, "Besides it was only information."

"Only information?" Dana was astonished, "Information that took six weeks to gather and only five seconds and a faulty relay to destroy. All gone, now the Romulans will move everything."

"Maybe," Jackie shrugged, "but we'll find it again. You know you'll enjoy the game."

Dana shook his head, then turned to the Andorian security chief, "Faldor, when will Chiako and Pytor be back?"

Faldor checked the data pad in his hands. "They will return from Moskva at twenty-two hundred hours."

"What about that new social scientist? What's his name?"

Another look down at the pad then, "Commander Melvin, sometime tonight."

"Oh well, call me when he gets here." Dana said, and then smiled as a Vulcan woman gracefully stepped onto the flight deck. "Good afternoon T'Lish, all set?"

"Yes sir," the Vulcan medic said, "we're all set."

Moments later, a new voice said, "Sir, Martin reports that the warp engines are back on line."

Dana smiled at the blonde haired woman, "Thank you Janice, and give him my thanks."
