Very good story and history very close to reality that, surely, live many couples in their relationships. The image that title of the story is very effective, because, in truth, the hearts get tired, that is to say, the love, the affective proximity, the comprehension, the communication... they seem to enter in a state of exhaustion, of stress. The fictional story you present to us reveals this in a crude way.

That's right, @josemalavem. relationships go through stages in which love is set aside, forgotten and even changed. The problem is when the relationship falls into that dark pit and no member of the couple has the strength to bring the relationship afloat, save it. This happens even in the best relationships.
