This chapter caught me completely by surprise. Just as we're delving deep into Anna's story we switch back to Jared. Now that I've read it, it really does feel like a much needed reprieve to keep up the suspense. Nice job choosing the placement for this. Hyberstasis is a cool concept, though I'm not sure why anyone would willingly choose that. Perhaps immortality brings an emotional strain that us lowly humans can't quite comprehend. I always imagined that if I were immortal, I would be studying the hell out of books and try to change the world at least once every generation haha Then, after so many generations (and identities), I'll forget that I was once this person haha

Jared looks to be a great foil to Anna now that she's turned. The grizzled veteran with a longtime disdain for humans. Hmm friend or foe? I'm inclined to say foe. Great job, my friend! :D
