So it went.
Disruption spread thru the economy, caused by ‘magic wands’ with genies inside..mostly. Those who received a magic wand but were unfit for a genie....died.
Think of it as evolution in action.
Those who received the magic wands and lived, likewise replicated more wands and gave them away to friends and family, et cetera. More and more ‘magic wands’ came into existence. With them came economic independence. No one needed to buy ANYTHING. They just waved their magic wand and “poof” they had what ever they wanted.
The wave of economic disruption spread rapidly. Before the authorities had time to react it was too late. No one needed the authorities any longer.
A good thing too. Fimbulvinter was coming. The last thing that people needed was for government to hold them down.

Sometimes it's hard to tell fiction from the news.
These are interesting times. A generation could soon get used to making their own money but how will governments react and what can they do to stop it happening?
that would be the point of the whole story.
what CAN they do?
can they close pandora's box?
can they sweep back the technological tide?
The Magic Revolution has just begun and begins the rescue of the most beaten and forgotten sector by the great political and economic sector. The time of the recession is coming to the great economic and political sectors ... because it is true! politicians must begin to disappear because they will not have anyone to cheat ... approaches a very severe winter that will end up paralyzing the powerful political and economic sector; but the magical battalion can easily withstand the situation and will continue to grow. Very interesting what is to come.

I only see one problem with this utopia that you are writing about. There will always be "whales" that don't want to help others and would keep the "magic wands" to themselves.
Government can do other things to keep people enslaved, such as hunting down people with the magic wands and killing them.
I like your analogy, but unless you have time to post 12 things a day, and each thing brings ten dollars, you won't get enough to live on.
Although, I would love to see a world without the IRS around.
