As far as Shelby was concerned the bombing never stopped. The bombing continued. His world was the explosions.
Constant. Night and day it felt like. His time sense had warped. To him the bombing continued...24/7. In reality the bombing had only lasted a few minutes...perhaps an hour. His reality had just sort of fuzzed out since Cu Chi.
The bombing rocked his world.
The Voice had....Where WAS the Voice? What had happened to his best buddy? He hadn’t heard the voice in SO long. He hadn’t spoken to him. What had happened to.....
The pounding went on and on. His world, his universe was filled with earth shattering Ka-booms. He couldn’t even hear himself think.
He was acoustically challenged. His world vibrated. It never stopped.
.....never, never, never stopped...never stopped...never stopped.....but the intensity was decreasing. ...the vibration lessened..
The pounding went on, and on, and on, and on....at a lower intensity. To his tortured mind it seemed to continue
...for hours, days, weeks...
....for years.
...for eternity..
............then it stopped.
The Screaming Sound of Silence assaulted him. There were no more explosions. The silence was almost as bad as the explosions had been.
