Yeah, maybe we do. Trying to put the ineffable into words, but can only speak around it. There seems to be no way to ever get there In a linear way, but it's fun trying.
Yes. Actually, Someone told me a similar thing. They said, you can't (and even shouldn't) speak about these things directly, but you can point at them and wink. e.g. when Bill Hicks talks about how the news never mentions the positive effects of drugs - they never say that Eric Johnston of 25th Street realised that we are all one consciousness, that matter is only energy condensed to a slow vibration, and so on. He presents that as a joke, but it's something else.
Interesting he said shouldn't talk about it. Yeah, I think overtalking it can shift you away from direct knowing. There's a line in the Tao Te Ching, "More words mean less. Hold fast to the center." Hicks is a legend, I know that bit. "Now here's Tom with the weather."
That's an interesting point... As long as you talk about it indirectly, you'll always remind yourself that it's just a representation. "The Tao that can be named is not the true Tao."
