The last occurrence served as the last straw that broke the camel’s back, for Sophia it was the climax. Before then she had decided to put an end to their relationship for her life is meaningless without money. Now she still decided to leave him but for what he did to her she decided to take her vengeance before taking her leave, she was going to prove to him that he was the bigger fool. If he knew how to catch a prey, he still had to learn to keep it, Sophia said to herself.

It was twelve noon, Sophia got ready, arranged a meeting with Segun, Daniel's colleague. Sophia got to the hotel where the meet-up was scheduled and sat in one corner at the far end of the room, within five minutes Segun came in and spotted her almost immediately. He was eager to hear whatever Sophia had to say, he patted her affectionately on the shoulder and sat beside her.
”This is something I don’t enjoy saying but I can’t keep it to myself anymore,” Sophia began, ”You remember that shortly after Daniel and I got married some fifty thousand pounds went missing, well I know you’ll be surprised to hear the truth. It was embezzled by Daniel, I just don’t think it’s fair to maintain silence over such an issue”
Segun was taken aback by the nature of the new information, he did remember the missing fifty pounds and unsuccessful attempt to trace it. He looked at Sophia with curiosity, first he wanted to be sure that his informant was absolutely sure and right. Sophia struck the table with her right hand and emphatically reaffirmed what she already said.
”I am his wife, remember.” Thank you so much Segun said slowly as he tried to grasp the cryptic message behind Sophia’s information. They finished their drink and parted ways.

On his way back to the office Segun was in deep thought, reviewing over and over in his mind the short meeting which he just had with Sophia. But why on earth would Sophia tell him such vital information about her husband?.
Segun worked hard on the information he received and after three weeks with intensive and judicious investigation the Board of Directors of the bank Daniel worked for gathered irrefutable evidence against him which lead to his property been confiscated with all his entitlement which would be sold after a period of three months. Daniel felt dizzy with shock, he felt miserable, his hope was lost, his life ruined. He was afraid to let his wife know, the shadow of disappointment and sorrow that would cross her heart.

Later in the afternoon, Sophia came home from work. Daniel could not utter a single word, his lips were too weak. All he could do was pen down the information regarding his terminated appointment. Sophia read what he penned down.
”Oh”, she exclaimed, pretending to be shocked and then all of a sudden burst out laughing. Daniel was stupefied, but Sophia’s next statement got him confused.
”How are the mighty fallen!“ Sophia jeered at him. ”D-dear, I hope you have never never imagined that you can keep me under your roof in your jobless condition. That will be unfair, absolutely unfair. If another woman enjoyed your wealth when the good was going I don’t see reason why I should stay to suffer with you. Go and look for her. Tell her to come and mourn with you not me, Sophia.” she roared.
”In this Lagos city you tell me that I’m child of nobody? Yes, you’re right. But have shown you that you’re nothing but a fool. As powerless as I’m see what have done to you. Sit down now and eat your money!” Sophia went on while packing her things into three big think boxes.
"Oh, let me remind you, hell hath no fury than a woman scorned"
Daniel couldn’t believe his eyes, his eyes misted with tears, he looked at Sophia through a blur, her figure was fuzzy. He looked down in shame and perplexity, everything was lost, the desire to live finally died inside him. Sophia packed out of his house and left him to bear his cross alone.
