Looks like I will need to make some time to catch up on previous episodes...
You can start reading here and catch up on that without being too confused. A lot of this story is stand alone. The first book reveals a couple of clues to Dalton's identity and establishes the story line in River Grove, and his relationship with Leeanne so far. The main plotline in it is continued, somewhat, here, but they both stand on their own.
