Volcano island~Part 3

Mat Guci has been left for five years by Brahim Naga. At that time Lamuria's condition was chaotic. The struggle for power between the crown prince and the prime minister made Brahim Naga involved in it. He is not alone. There are also commanders of the balang who participated in the rebellion against this palace. They were disappointed with the kingdom because they were too big to apply taxes to their people. Is Brahim Naga, Ma Puteh, Aki Laot and Pang Lateh who then chose to take up arms with the fighters fighting the palace. As a result they were then forced to disappear from Lhok Me after the crown prince's troops won the battle.

On Weh Island, Brahim Naga and his friends almost died when the Malacca Strait raged. Falling trees. One of the hundreds of fallen trees fell on Brahim Naga's hut and his friends who were asleep.

Weh Island is on the tip of Sumatra Island and is about 17.62 miles from the center of the Kingdom of Lamuria. Based on the history of Lamuria, it is known that Weh Island is a land formed by volcanic activity in ancient times.

This island initially merged with the mainland Samudra, precisely in the Indrapurwa region. In the record also known the existence of large volcanoes in this region. That said, the volcano was angry. The earth spikes spit out its guts to divide the main land.

Weh Island itself has a hard landscape. In addition, the island also has several volcanoes that are ready to spew out "anger". One of them is a volcano in the Men Laot Bay region, which was formed after the main volcano erupted in ancient times. This also makes the waters around Pria Laot warm. Not infrequently sulfur bubbles emerge from the crevices of the depths of the sea.

In addition, Pulau Weh also has Jaboi volcano which often erupts and makes the area very hot. This also makes Pulau Weh rarely visited by humans. And this also made Brahim Naga and his friends choose the place as their hiding place.

Although Weh Island is uninhabited, this area is included in the Lamuria region. The kingdom and the people of Lamuria often use sulfur in the island to cure skin diseases. However, after Mount Jaboi's activity increased, the kingdom began to rarely stop at this island. (to be continue...)

Mat Guci sudah lima tahun ditinggal Brahim Naga. Saat itu kondisi Lamuria sedang kacau. Perebutan kekuasaan antara putra mahkota dengan perdana menteri membuat Brahim Naga terlibat di dalamnya. Dia tidak sendiri. Ada pula komandan para balang yang ikut serta dalam pemberontakan terhadap istana ini. Mereka kecewa dengan kerajaan lantaran terlalu besar menerapkan pajak untuk rakyatnya. Belum lagi pemerintahan tangan besi yang diterapkan putra mahkota membuat rakyat tambah sengsara. (Read: Little fighter~Part 2)

Adalah Brahim Naga, Ma Puteh, Aki Laot dan Pang Lateh yang kemudian memilih angkat senjata bersama para balang memerangi istana. Akibatnya mereka kemudian terpaksa menghilang dari Lhok Me setelah pasukan putra mahkota memenangkan pertempuran.

Brahim Naga bersama rekan-rekannya kemudian mengarungi lautan menuju Pulau Weh. Di sana, mereka menjalani hidup dengan sangat keras. Bentang alam pegunungan dan perbukitan cadas serta tanah karang membuat mereka kesulitan bertahan hidup. (Read: The tiger handler)

Di Pulau Weh pula Brahim Naga dan teman-temannya nyaris tewas ketika badai Selat Malaka mengamuk. Pepohonan bertumbangan. Satu diantara ratusan pohon rubuh itu menimpa pondok Brahim Naga dan teman-temannya yang sedang terlelap.

Pulau Weh berada di ujung Pulau Sumatera dan berjarak sekitar 17,62 mil dari pusat Kerajaan Lamuria. Berdasarkan sejarah Lamuria, diketahui Pulau Weh merupakan daratan yang terbentuk akibat aktivitas vulkanik pada masa purba.

Pulau ini awalnya menyatu dengan daratan induk Samudra, tepatnya di kawasan Indrapurwa. Dalam catatan tersebut juga diketahui adanya gunung api besar yang berada di kawasan ini. Konon, gunung api itu murka. Paku bumi tersebut memuntahkan isi perutnya hingga membelah daratan utama.

Setelah fenomena alam itu terjadi, kawasan daratan yang terpenggal kemudian disebut Ulee Lheueh, yang berarti kepala lepas. Sementara daratan baru yang berpindah sekitar 14,97 mil itu disebut Pulau Weh, yang berarti pulau yang berpindah. (Read: A short story about Sabang and historical records)

Pulau Weh sendiri memiliki bentang alam yang keras. Selain itu, pulau ini juga memiliki beberapa gunung api yang siap memuntahkan "kemarahannya". Salah satunya adalah gunung api di kawasan Teluk Pria Laot, yang terbentuk setelah gunung api utama meletus zaman dahulu kala. Ini pula yang membuat perairan di sekitar Pria Laot menjadi hangat. Tak jarang gelembung-gelembung belerang muncul dari celah-celah kedalaman laut.

Selain itu, Pulau Weh juga memiliki gunung api Jaboi yang kerap erupsi dan membuat kawasan tersebut sangat panas. Ini pula yang membuat Pulau Weh jarang disinggahi manusia. Dan ini juga yang membuat Brahim Naga dan kawan-kawan memilih tempat tersebut sebagai lokasi persembunyian mereka.

Meskipun Pulau Weh tidak berpenghuni, tetapi kawasan ini masuk dalam wilayah Lamuria. Pihak kerajaan dan masyarakat Lamuria seringkali memanfaatkan belerang-belerang yang ada di pulau ini untuk menyembuhkan penyakit kulit. Namun, pasca aktivitas gunung Jaboi meningkat, pihak kerajaan mulai jarang menyinggahi pulau ini. (bersambung...)
