FLUFFY HUNT.

Chapter 12.

INTERSTELLAR NEWS CHANNEL 9. NEWS FLASH.

News is coming in from the Heeter system of a rebellion led by the King’s daughter. Fierce fighting has raged on the planet and only the arrival of a Federal fleet prevented the planet falling to the Princess and her forces. It is believed the Princess has escaped with a handful of rebels after using thermal weapons to destroy the royal palace and a number of military targets. The King and many of his court were killed during the attempted uprising. General Jee has assumed control of the planet until the succession to the throne can be verified. Teams of engineers are working to repair large-scale damage caused to the shipyards during the uprising. The Heeter shipyards were the largest production site in the Inner Systems, producing forty per cent of the merchant fleets.

Mr Fluffy had learnt much from his battle with Nifty. The battle suit had been found wanting and had been too easily damaged. He had worked since then on improving it, using first the equipment delivered by the Federation assassin, and then from a number of secret science laboratories scattered around the Federation, that he had secretly taken over. Each laboratory had been infiltrated and then the staff implanted with either his mind control chips or nano-probes to ensure their obedience. His battle suit was now much improved, being more manoeuvrable and equipped with weaponry and shielding that made it safe from every conceivable attack.
With the suit ready he had decided that it would need field testing, as he could not afford another setback as his planning for universal domination continued. A need within himself drove him on, telling him that he needed to be ready for the real battle that would come after he took over the universe.
He would have to face his true enemies and any weakness then would lead to failure. He had already attacked a training base for E.D.F. Special forces and had run amok, killing everyone there. It had proved to be a poor test and far too easy, but by chance he had discovered something far better to test his suit. For the last month he had begun to bait a new trap, hunting down and killing agents that worked for the Galactica assassins. He knew that they would eventually send out agents to find out who was threatening their order’s security.
From the last agent he had killed, he had gained the information he needed to know of the next agent up the chain. Also he knew that when he arrived to kill the next agent their assassins would be waiting for him. This would be a true field test of his battle suit. He would face the ultimate hunters in the universe at a place of their choosing, a remote little trading post known as Molvan Moon.
