QUICHE YOU SAY ? #FFF

One really nice thing for me with living in farm country, is my EGG-LADY. She is actually my cousin who lives just up the road from me. She has CHICKENS, as well as horses, goats and one pot-bellied pig, which is also her pet. She also has four dogs. Needless to say she loves all animals. But as for me, I love her chickens, they produce the most delicious eggs you can image. We have a steady supply from her , we trade with her for things she may need. This sign was made by my hubby for her.

One of the many things you can do with farm fresh eggs is make QUICHE. Now I know the saying REAL men don't eat QUICHE, but at our farm that saying DOES NOT APPLY. I do cheat a little with the crust, I admit it, I buy the frozen ones, opps. But every other ingredient is fresh. I use any veggie that's in my fridge. Spinach, mushrooms, onion, broccoli ,asparagus ( my personal fav) tomatoes, whatever I can dig out. Cheese, you will need cheese, again anything you have in the fridge, cheddar, mozzarella, swiss...you get my point.

Then whip up your eggs, nice and fluffy, the longer you whisk, the lighter your QUICHE. Then just layer your pie crust with all those goodies. Sometimes I will add some meat, kielbasa, bacon or ham which has to be cooked BEFORE you throw that in, once it's all there, pour that beautiful, protein packed, sweet egg mix over entire pie. Oh boy soooo good.

Now bake in the oven @350 for 40-45 mins...slide a knife into the center, if it comes out semi-clean, remember the cheese with stick when melted and there ya go...BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER or just a wonderful healthy little slice for a snack.
