The joy of mending fences during festivals
We finished our 2 days Ganesh Chaturthi festival with great joy and fun. Celebrations were for 2 days but the preparations had to be done some days in advance, and so many things had to be remembered to do. Also these are the times we always look forward to, because it brings a shift in the energy. It is the time when family and friends come together, forget all their differences and celebrate together with the feeling of love. This year I experienced something very special.
One of my very good friend, we had cut off over some differences for the past few years. We were not on talking terms absolutely. When I was sending out my invites, it just flashed my mind that I need to invite her too. We had some major differences so I was not sure if she would come or not, but then from my side I felt that I should invite her and then leave the rest to the universe. When I sent her the message, she instantly replied yes, she will come. I was so happy. For the past few years, both of us were stuck with our egos and did not speak with each other, but yes in our hearts we always wanted to. So all egos dropped I invited her and she accepted it, without any fuss.
When she came over we gave each other a tight hug, there was no talking of past what happened, who was wrong or right or any of that. It was pure love and the magic of the festival that was working on us. And then it felt like we had never separated from each other. So I strongly believe that festivals and occasions are time to bond with each other. You can drop all your differences with one another and participate in one another's joyful moments. These are the time when we do not hold any grudges or differences, It is a time of pure love and compassion.
After the 2 days of grand celebrations and so many guests coming over at my place, yesterday my home was looking all empty. I was telling my hubby that the empty home does not feel good. I was missing all the cheer and laughter. But yes at the same time, these things cannot be done daily, else they will lose their significance. These are special moments and we cherish them forever. We create memories with our loved ones, which we talk about even after many years. These are times when we get an opportunity to correct the wrong without any explanation or being judgmental. We just flow with the good energies of the time feeling blissful.
