Part one :location is important in Sinulog

I am pretty sure with Steemians joining the grandest parade in Cebu there are a lot of post about this every third Sunday event. Just the same, I will write about my experience because for the past 8years I have stayed in Cebu I never missed this festival for anything except 2016 where I spent the whole year in and put of hospital .

Location is very important in Sinulog because with the massive crowd it's hard to grab food, pee, get medical help, recharge phone or get transportation. This 2018 Sinulog was by far the highest attended one as per my observation. For three years my friend Media and I had been doing this it's the first time we have to go to medic because she fainted from suffocation in our way home. Sad to note, still the government has to improve more on crowd management .But as always the parade was amazing in terms of beautifully decorated floats, amazing dancers costumes that are mind-blowing and music that will make you dance with a smile.

Because we had a great location I was able to take a lot of beautiful pictures. Sadly in my attempt to clear space for more pictures I accidentally deleted some. Lesson learned there.

So allow me to share them in batches because they're too many that I am still struggling what to write about worthy of your time and Upvotes hopefully.

In any Sinulog event depending on your budget and interest there are many locations to choose from. If you're a senior, pregnant, person with disability I suggest shy away from non paying crowd so securing Abellana ticket is advisable.

If you're healthy and not a complainer watching from the streets or from free bleachers with good aerial view on a first come first serve basis is the best. My friend and I did the latter. Rain or shine we waited as floats, puppet makers, merry makers and contingents with their dancers, props men and band pasaed us by

I don't think it would be possible to get this perspective had we been stuck in the crowd smelling everyone else body odour and often being victimised by pickpocketers or men who likes groping at other person asses or boobs

The float for this Sinulog were very impressive be it be part of the contingent, the government sector or private .The shrilling crowd was all eyes to movie actors and celebrities but me I was at the details on each float and the love and hours and money poured into them.

My realisation is, it's a good marketing strategy to join the grand parade as its televised nationwide and well attended by local and foreign tourist alike. So if you notice, all the cities of province has their own dance troupes and behind these contingents are sponsors who gets free air time.

My friend and I agreed you know you're famous when you get to ride a float and people endure intermittent rain or shine just to see you wave or smile at them. Many had flown from neigboring province for the opportunity to see celebrities and the glam that defines this event.

Yes I am grateful that we found this free bleachers where we get to see the dancers perform in from of the judge who was seated across us. Thankful that it was near to all utilities. Happy that we saw what we came for.
