RE: THE UNKNOWN STORY OF EVERY WOMAN (An original POETIC article)

in #feminism7 years ago

It's a nice sketch of a seemingly common story of a present day household. But I didn't get the relevance of your first tag. When both were in love with each other and she decided on her own to sacrifice her desires in favour of her love, how come the issue of feminism came into play? It was her own choice to let go her wish to "fly out of the cage". The door of the cage was always open!

I find your following lines more befitting to this situation:

ये कैदखाने जो कुछ दुनिआ ने बना रखे हैं,
और कुछ इनमे से, हमने खुद रचा रखे हैं |
गलती तो उनकी भी थी, गलती थी कुछ समाज की,
कुछ गलती थी मेरे अपनों की,
गलती सबसे बड़ी थी जिसकी, वो मेरी थी |

The feminism tag is used here because it is a story of almost every woman and it goes unnoticed. Yes it was her choice because that was the only choice she had. The other choice was to leave her husband, the person she loved, the person who she knows won't be able to live without her. The person she wants to take care of. Even if the door of the cage was open, she would loose her love if she flew.

We are what we are, and not what we could have been, only because we choose to become prisoners to our own choices. And this is applicable to all, irrespective of the gender. This is what I feel.

Of course it is applicable to all genders, but this article is about what almost every lady chooses, her love, over her freedom. This might be called a strength by some, a sacrifice by some, a big heart by some, but I believe she needs to wake up and stop sacrificing, and think about herself, if no one else is thinking about her.
