Torremolinos #feedme

in #feedme6 years ago (edited)

Torremolinos is a town 7km west of Malaga. It is three train stations away from Benalmadena – where I am. Yesterday was a lovely day, so I decided to go and see what Torromelinos is like. I took the train from Benalmadena to Torremolinos and walked back from there, along the beach front promenade. The walk took about one hour and fifteen minutes and by the time I arrived back in Bendalmadena, my legs was wobbly, and my old body worn out. It was a very pleasant walk though. Got the sun in my eyes and the breeze in my face. Just lovely.

What’s in Torremolinos? You get out of the underground train station and you are in the main square – the heart of the city. I had a wander around the square – there’s not much to see really. Surrounding the square are shops, eateries, hotels, clubs … very touristic. It is still not peak tourist period, so it wasn’t very busy.

Torremolinos is touted as a modern town – a place where the young, hip and trendy soak up the sun in the day and/or party all night. It does look clean and modern and has a touch of class about it, compared to Benalmadena. Of course, the prices are classier too. It has a vibrant night life. Clubs open late in the evening and close when the sun comes up. There are many food and beverage outlets.

And then there’s the beach front promanade – the beach, eateries, and souvenir shops which cater to the passing tourists. The beach looks neat and organized, polished and upmarket too.

The day was very breezy as you can see from the flags. The area where the sonbrillas and beach chairs were, was enclosed, to keep out the breeze.

And looking towards Benalmadena. The beaches stretches as far as you can make out in the pictures.

Neat, clean and tidy.
