Hello, Steemit can add functionality to disable comments on our posts like blogger, wordpress and Like others, to eliminate much spam that we are watching on steemit!
I am in favor of a feature to disable comments on our posts!

I think you ( @cassandracomplex and @trev) misunderstood @nasimbabu's intention.
Imagine yourself in the situation when some member or even a group of members constantly harassing you and you don't have any option to stop that (i.e. block the user).
In the moment when Steemit numbers only something above 100K users and where majority if not all are very friendly and helpful, it's not such a big problem. But we want Steemit to grow bigger, right?!
In that case, let's say we would wish just for 1% of current active daily Facebook users to come here. It means it would be 5 million users on Steemit.
Let's also assume that we want here some famous public figures as well to help the platform roll on faster and become even bigger. Do you really think some popular musicians, actors and similar public figures would arrive here and allow themselves to be exposed just like that to some stockers without the option to block them? I don't think so!
I had a feeling and understood @nasimbabu was asking, in fact, something in that direction.

So in other words; censorship?
Should spam just be reported and let people speak their mind? A lot of people moved to Steemit, not just for earning money but because they were fed up with the other sites censoring and shadow banning dissenting opinions.
No, In my opinion A lot of people moved to Steemit because of the money (including me)!
If you have a blog we deduce that it is your then we would have the possibility if we ant or not comments in our posts it´s only!
Other sites censoring I think it has nothing to do with comments but violate the terms of the sites
like here If you put something wrong against the community you get flag and You can go from 29 to 0 reputation and I do not think it is censoring

Why?
One of the major appeals of Steem is that there's no censorship. Plus it'd have to be implemented on the block-chain level not just on steemit's site or people will just go to a different steem interface. And you can't implement it on the block-chain level unless you scrap the impermeability of the blockchain, which would not turn out well.
