Feathered Friday: Yellow Rumped Songbirds
My entry to #featheredfriday hosted by the generous and gracious @melinda010100 is a couple of yellow rumped songbirds that were around the same time as the Cedar Waxwings were eating the pin cherries on the property.
I’m not sure if these little birds are the yellow-rumped warblers but there’s yellow on their rump.
There was only one pair of the birds. One is looking back to see where the other one is.
The cute little bird has something in the beak. Fruit is a big part of their diet and they also eat insects.
With the cooler weather coming, many birds will head South. These ones are the last to leave and the first to return.
Perhaps they hang with the cedar waxwings because the warbler’s diet includes a substantial amount of fruit and the waxwings know where to find the fruit trees.

I am not ready for the birds to go south for the winter! Those little birds are so cute. We don't have them on this side of the continent. We do have waxwings, though. They like to eat all the berries off the holly tree.

Every year it seems to get harder to say goodbye to summer. I'm glad your waxwings are still around. Our swallows have started their annual gathering and are getting ready to depart. That's when I know it's really over.

Birds are always such peaceable little creatures. I'm often envious of their life and getting to flitter around int he air all day.
They are WW. It’s nice to see them around. 😊
My back yard is often full of blackbirds in winter. It's a nice thing to watch. The dog will put up with no such tomfoolery however, and makes sure to send them all on their way.

I'd hate to think what this world would be like without birds. It would be a dull world for sure. Those two are real cuties!
I noticed fewer birds around @free-reign -so much insecticide used on lawns and crops.

Oh Lord, that is really, really sad! I didn't know that, but knowing it makes me even more glad that I'm feeding a lot of birds good, nutritious food each morning. They are very special creatures.
In my neighborhood there aren't many (if there are any) who have chemicals put on their lawns, and that will help some.

Lovely songbirds! I find them just too quick for me which is why I always concentrate on the larger birds. I'm going to have to try harder!
