I took these photos in April 2015 at the Berlin Zoo. Among the waterfowl in the zoo there were such small swans with wide beaks.	Эти фотографии я сделала в апреле 2015 года в Берлинском зоопарке. Среди водоплавающих птиц в зоопарке были вот такие небольшие лебеди с широкими клювами.
I, unfortunately, did not take a picture of the plate. But the internet helped me. It turned out not to be swans. But the bird is called Coscoroba swan (lat. Coscoroba coscoroba) - waterfowl of the duck family. The only species of the Coscoroba genus.	Я, к сожалению, не сфотографировала табличку. Но интернет мне помог. Это оказались не лебеди. Птица называется коскороба (лат. Coscoroba coscoroba) — водоплавающая птица семейства утиных. Единственный вид рода Coscoroba. Впрочем, часто их называют лебедь коскороба.

Coscoroba swans live only in South America. Therefore, I could meet them only at the zoo.	Коскоробы живут только в Южной Америке. Поэтому встретить их я могла только в зоопарке.
Beautiful white birds. The eyes seemed interesting. Visible bright iris.	Красивые белые птицы. Интересными показались глаза. Видна светлая радужка.

According to the international status of the Coscoroba swan refers to the species, the existence of which does not cause concern.	По международному статусу коскороба относится к видам, существование которых не вызывает опасений.
But the number of Coscoroba swans everywhere declined. Long time people hunted these birds because of the meat.	Но численность коскоробы повсеместно сократилась. Длительное люди охотились на этих птиц из-за мяса.
And Coscoroba swans eat mostly plants, like grass on the ground, and small algae, sometimes mussels and small fish.	А коскоробы питаются большей частью растениями, как травой на земле, так и мелкими водорослями, иногда мидиями и мелкой рыбой.

On land, Coscoroba swans go badly, waddling, as they have short legs. But while we were watching them, the birds did not go ashore. They swam quietly, looking their reflection in the glass or visitors to the zoo behind the glass.	По суше коскоробы ходят плохо, в развалку, так как у них короткие ноги. Но пока мы за ними наблюдали, птицы на берег не выходили. Они спокойно плавали, рассматривая то ли своё отражение в стекле, то ли посетителей зоопарка за стеклом.
Life expectancy is fast in nature for about 20 years, in captivity - up to 35.	Продолжительность жизни коскороб в природе около 20 лет, в неволе – до 35.
I hope these birds from the Berlin Zoo will live happily ever after.	Надеюсь, эти птицы из Берлинского зоопарка проживут долго и счастливо.
