featheredfriday - Greenhouse Day

Local Greenhouse/Mini-Ranch Feathered Friends
On my #wednesdaywalk post I mentioned some of the critters and that I would try and get a post out Friday and show a few of them. Well I'm a day late, got wrapped up in other things yesterday. Here is a quick link to my wednesdaywalk -post if you missed it. So now on with the show and tell portion.
After looking at and taking a lot of pictures I wandered over to the birds. It is a ranch along with a greenhouse, and well sort of a tiny sized zoo. The owners welcomed people to wander around. Here is a very cool looking chicken, I just loved the color of his tail feathers, such a vibrant neon-ish looking green. When I first saw him he was making a bee-line for one of the sheds, I don't know if it was to get a drink of water or what, but I had to wait for him to come back out. Hard to tell he is behind a couple layers of fence, I got lucky on that shot because you can not really see the fencing. Not so lucky on a lot of others.
The bar above was created from a portion of our next guest to the page, once again if you have a need for a separation bar feel free to use it. This guy was not an easy one to get a picture of, I don't think he stopped moving the whole time I was standing there trying to get pictures of him and the others. I did get a couple of very lucky shots of at least his head with out getting fence in the shot. His blue and that blurred out green, very lucky shot. They had a female peacock, but unfortunately with where she was I was unable to get anything even remotely like a postable picturre.
Okay back to the barnyard type critters, I know a lot of people do not see peacocks as a farm animal, but they really are, a lot of farms have them as warning systems. Here is Ben Franklin's favorite bird. Not only Ben Franklin's favorite bird but I think come a certain day a favorite bird of many people for the dinner table. You can see a little of the fencing on him, but it was not to bad, I am not sure what happened to his tail feathers, likely a victim of a jealous peacock or one of the other birds in the bird area. He does have a pretty nice display despite the damage, almost like he is trying to punk himself out and say, "Yeah, I'm Bad. ohh yeah baby check out my styling". Who knows what really goes on in the minds of our feathered friends.
We have been going out and hoping to get a picture in a natural setting of a swan, but things are just conspiring against us this year to get a picture out in nature. We have a pretty good sized fire preventing access to the mountains and the lakes, so her we go, they had a pair of swans, I don't think swans do well by themselves, so it was nice to see both of them so close together and seemingly happy. Once again the fence did get in the way a bit of a full body shot, and I had a difficult time trying to get it to fade like I was able to on the turkey, so a nice close up of the head. Well that pretty much covers the feathered friends.
Of course no so called Ranch would be complete with out a Horse of Course. They also had some donkeys and other horses, but this was the best shot. The pictures of the donkey's did not come out as well as I hoped, and the other horse was to busy eating to even take notice, I did get a few head down in the food shots of him, but there really was nothing notable about the pictures. I did like this shot, he/she looks like they are at least curious as to what I was doing.
#featheredfriday is hosted by @melinda010100. Here is a link to her post and some great Rose-breasted grosbeak pictures. So build a post, and drop your link on her post.
I think that may be the most beautiful rooster that I have ever seen! What a gorgeous bird. All of the photos are great. The one of the swan is pure elegance. Thanks for sharing these with #featheredfriday
Cute farm animals.
Hi @bashadow
I hope you won't mind this post (it's not really related in any way to your current publication).
I've been just wondering if you joined PALnet airdrop (PALnet is a token build on Steem-engine).
If you didn't claim it then perhaps I could ask you for small favour. Would you consider claiming your tokens and selling or delegating it to me for few months? I would obviously pay you some STEEM for those tokens (I can even pay for delegation - I want to invest some time and money into that platform).
How to claim your token?
a) login in http://palnet.io/ (it's build on STEEM blockchain, so you will use same login details)
b) login in steem-engine.com
c) claim your tokens -> to do that you need to open steem-engine.com and go to "wallet". In left-top corner you will have PALnet (blue colour) logo. Click on it and claim your PAL tokens.
d) go to your palnet wallet and either transfer your PAL tokens to crypto.piotr or STAKE it and delegate to me (click STAKE and then "advanced" and simply type in my username).
Amount of received tokens depend mostly on your current level of SP (I'm not sure if delegations are being taken into consideration as well).
So based on my current experience, if you have 200 STEEM POWER then you should be able to receive something around 100-150 PALnet tokens.
I would pay you 10 STEEM for purchasing each 100 of those PAL tokens. So basically you can earn something and help me grow on this particular platform, making both of us happy :) Plus you would sell/delegate those tokens without bringing down their current price (you won't need to dump them on exchange).
You would earn some extra STEEM and I would have higher STAKE in this platform.
I've only 500 STEEM I can spent on that purpose (plus airdrop will not last forwer) so HURRY UP :) :)
Cheers,
Piotr
I did join and palnet and claimed the airdrop. I received 402 PAL tokens.
Since then I have bought - 68.929 PAL token on the market, and earned
9.071 tokens for a total of 480.360 PAL tokens.
As you can see I do not have that many and have been trying to build my PALnet tokens up over the last 24 days. Using steemengine is pretty simple to buy the tokens. It was confusing the first time I did it, but I eventually figured it out.
The reason I have been investing a bit is I like what they stand for. People do not understand that it is the block chain that is decentralized, all the other front ends are centralized organizations. PALnet is at least enforcing their rules and standards. They do not have very many, most of them are common sense things, and I can deal with common sense issues/rules. I think they are heading in the right direction. My secondary account is about 98% only on PALnet. Right now difficult for me to make the switch completely with my primary account because of the content on steemit, and several that I follow have not moved over yet.
I wish you luck in your endeavours I think Palnet will be a good thing.
Hi @bashadow
Thanks for your kind and prompt comment. Appreciate.
I absolutely agree that steemengine is super intuitive. Creators of this tool did great job.
You kind of lost me here. PALnet is decentralized? Is there really any difference between them or Steemit? Both are build on decentralized blockchain with very centralized governance (centralized organizations).
Anyway ...
I also wanted to make some suggestion.
My impression is, that the hardest part of attracting attention on STEEMIT is the fact, that our audience have very little chance to actually find our publications. Lack of solid notification system is an obvious issue. And regardless how hard I would try - there is very little chance I would find out about your new interesting publications (my feed is just flooded with to many posts).
Please allow me to share some suggestion with you. If you would ever publish content related to blockchain, crypto, artificial intelligence, psychology etc.
then perhaps you could simply send me memo with link to that post.
This way not only I would have a chance to read your publication, but I will also
upvote it right away with 20k SP voting power
. If I would consider it interesting then I may also share it with wider audience. Please let me know what do you think.
Cheers, Piotr
The STEEM Blockchain is the decentralized part. There is no difference between Steemit and PALnet to really speak of other than PALnet is accepting responsibility for their front end, and ensuring that the users of PALnet have protection against bullying and trollish type behavior. Had steemit taken action early and fully backed their policies steemit would be a much happier and friendly place to post. They, steemit, has decided that yelling BOMB in the middle of a crowded theater is a protected part of free speech. PALnet has decided it is not. Yes they are both Centralized Organizations.
I appreciate the wallet offer and vote if you like a post I do, and I may take you up on the offer in the future. Most of the time I just use the wallet to claim the tokens, sometimes I look at the bottom half sometimes not.
