As you probably understand by now, The X-Files is my "all-time" favourite TV series and how couldn't be!!! Before The X-Files there was NOTHING. And to be more accurate, before this amazing TV show airs for the first time back in 1993, the gap in production cost, salaries for the actors and actresses, prestige and popularity between the film industry (Hollywood) and telly series was GIGANTIC!!!

Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, however, changed all that.

The phrases “the truth is out there” and “I want to believe,” became part of pop culture in the nineties thanks to the TV series, while the heroic battles of the two agents against creepy monsters and bizarre-looking aliens in order to expose the government's conspiracies gained the show hundreds of millions of fans worldwide.

In 2016, the producers of the show decided to bring back the mythology The X-Files developed through nine seasons and two movies  after fourteen years off the air (since May 19, 2002, when the 202nd and last episode of the legendary TV show aired). 

This way the younger generation got the chance to be introduced to the TV show that paved the way for many great sci-fi TV series that followed in the last fifteen years, while the older generation and especially X-Philes (the name of the show’s hard-core fans - I am one of them) fed their nostalgia with new episodes. 

Truth be told, the 10th season was kind of disappointing but the 11th that finished a couple of months ago, didn't let us down!!!

Fun Fact: Mulder’s cell phone number in the series is 555-0199. That means that the Burnhas family from American Beauty and Al Pacino’s character in The Insider stole his number since they have the same one.

Fun Fact 2: Believe it or not, but the iconic “I Want to Believe” poster has made such a cultural impact on American society that in 2008 it was inducted as a relic in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

Fun Fact 3:  The LEGENDARY piano echo effect in the show’s theme song was actually created by accident. After Chris Carter (the "father" of the X-Files) had walked out of the room, composer Mark Snow put his hand and forearm on the keyboard in frustration. The keyboard had been accidentally set to an echo effect but Carter liked the sound and, combined with the whistling effect, the iconic theme song was born.
