Extreme Parenting!

I guess that should really read...

X-Treme Parenting

For some reason, our little toddler has decided that her favourite piece of headwear at the moment is her sister's old bicycle helmet. I guess it is a step up from her mother's underwear or some random bag from the bin.... and just before anyone mentions it, it isn't because for protection from our parenting!

... at least I think it isn't, I have dropped her once... in the middle of the night. In my defense, it was really pitch black, and I was walking around alot trying to get her back to sleep, and I really thought I was over the bed! THUNK!

... but apart from that, nothing in recent history has warranted a need for head protection!

X-treme Parkour

Well, maybe it could be that we are letting her walk down the stairs now. Dutch stairs are pretty damn steep, and we have been allowing her to climb up, but we've only just started to let her walk down.

For a little girl, I keep thinking that it is more like mountain climbing each time she goes up and down... maybe I should tie my phone to her for the extra @actifit points?

It's a much trickier maneuver to go down than up... unless you just let gravity do all the work. In that case, it is really easy!

X-treme Reading

Well.... knowledge is a dangerous thing, but you might think that reading isn't such an extreme (sorry, X-treme) activity, but have you tried reading with only one leg on the ground?

My Reward

Well, it was a long day. My wife and my oldest daughter had a day out at the movies and a bit of long bike ride, so I was the toddler tamer for the day. This Eiswijn from Germany is my just reward for a day well spent!

It's a nice sweet dessert wine served nice and chilled! Goes down like a treat!

Too cute! Maybe a go-pro on the helmet? LOL!! You certainly earned your wine after I can only guess how many trips up and down the stairs.

Lol! Yes, a go pro would be a great idea!

Great post. An extremely witty and heartwarming post of your really cute daughter.
Lovely photographs to go along with it.
Your bottle of wine was richly deserved. Cheers🍷🍷🍷

Thanks! The wine was a nice and pleasant end to the day!

FOR TSE: Soooo ... my take-away point from this post is: Your kids are driving you to drink.

Ha ha! I hadn't thought of the subconscious train of thought there! Just like a good Pixar movie, appreciated on multiple levels!

Man my two little girls are 3 and 10 months and boy is it a lot of work. The 10 month old is crazy she just crawls over anything and is about to walk. Today my 3 year old went down a super slide at the pumpkin patch near our house and the whole time I thought she wouldn't do it and she does it solo no problem and wants to do it again right away. Man little girls can be daring if we let them.

Ha, I've got a few ovideos of my oldest falling off equipment in the playground! I'm starting to get a few of the younger one doing the same, nothing serious, but my wife keeps saying, why are you videoing them instead of holding them!

She looks very healthy @bengy, no worse for wear after being dropped once. But now you have something that you can blame when she is a teenager and drives you mad.

She was dropped quite sometime ago, so all that remains is perhaps some long term fear of heights!

She probably thinks safety first. Greetings from Austria

Haha... yes definitely!

lolololo extreme everything! I have to say, I really really really enjoy your parenting posts. Not only are you daughter adorable but you as a father are too 💚

Ha, thanks! It can be fun with kids... Also frustrating...

Such a down to earth read and I can totally relate. I need to get my toddler to wear a helmet! I'm relieved to hear that it's not only boys that have x-treme behaviour! She's adorable bengy. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Eiswijyn reward

It's funny because it wasn't our idea to wear the helmet... But she's got really into wearing it everywhere, even in public. It makes us look like hyperprotective parents...

Children are amazing, you never know exactly what they will do. Sounds like a great day. Enjoy the wine my friend.

They definitely are amazing.. Although, it fluctuates between amazing cute and amazingly frustrating! The wine was a welcome end to the day though!

A just reward indeed, save me a tall glass virtually please, cheers!

Too slow! I drank it all (well, between my wife and one of our neighbours..)...
