The blazer is finally finished and I am happy that I could sew this blazer in 5 days. I think this is my record because usually I take my time with many days in between and don't really have a plan when I want to finish a project.

I decided to give the blazer only one button. I think it looks nicer with only one button. Most of the time you use a blazer without closing it. Did you know I bought this fabric and lining 13 years ago? Yes, they are that old!

So I had to make the patterns of the lining today. I basically traced the patterns of the front and back parts and changed it for the lining. The lining always needs to be wider and shorter than the fabric.

I did the same for the sleeves.

So I have this beautiful lining but I wasn't sure if it would be enough. I thought it would be enough for the front and back parts and that I had to use another lining for the sleeves.

I was so surprised that all lining patterns fit! I realise now that I am very small and short. :-)

When sewing the lining you will need a much thinner needle, in my case needle number 60 because if you use a thicker needle, you will make big holes when sewing the lining.

Attaching the sleeves to the arm holes was actually very easy this time. There was not much difference between the arm circumference and the sleeve circumference.

The lining needs to be attached to the blazer.

20180220_115202.jpg

So I attached the lining to the blazer and sewed the bottom of the blazer and the sleeves. I opened the seam of the left underarm because I need to turn it inside out. I still needed to stitch the bottom of the blazer and the sleeves with my hand because they are not flat. I am not sure if I explain it very well or if it is even possible to explain it.

Here I pinned the seams, ready to be closed with hand stitching.

20180220_144154.jpg

I closed the seams using thread and a needle and just criss cross stitch the seams.

Now I just need to attach a button and make a button hole.

This is a special foot for making button holes. You just place the button at the top and the sewing machine will make the size of the button hole according to the size of the button.

I think the blazer looks nice when you leave it open.

A closed blazer is more for business/work. Not that I think red is an appropriate colour for work :-D

nice job @fathin-shihab One question, is it reversible because I like the pattern on the inside....maybe in the future you can figure out how to make one reversible if not.....anyhow amazing job!

Hi @streetstyle! Thank you! No, it's not reversible. I know, the lining is very pretty ;-). I never thought about making a blazer reversible. I think it is only possible when you make something that is wide. A blazer that is slimming is not possible to make it reversible. I will keep that in mind! Maybe in the future I will make a reversible bomber jacket :-). Thanks for the idea!

Yes, a reversible coat is a good idea @streetstyle.
