Fantasy Football - Week 8 Waiver Targets

With the exception of tonight's MNF game, week 7 is in the books. League playoffs are coming up fast, so I'm listing the top waiver pick ups to stack your team for week 8 - and a few long-cons.

Raheem Mostert - RB
The 26-year-old 49ers RB has made a splash the past 2 weeks earning 146 yards on 19 carries. With Matt Breida already banged up and Alfred Morris seemingly out of the picture, Mostert seems to be the #1 back currently.

Tre'Quan Smith - WR
It's not often that the Saints have a "slow" offensive game, but that's what they had in week 7 thanks to a tough Ravens pass defense. Smith was still good for 3 catches and 44 yards on 6 targets, and with Ted Ginn on injured reserve, Smith's fantasy value is very bullish.

Jalen Richard - RB
With Marshawn Lynch out for the foreseeable future, Richards will see a big spike in snaps. He's already been moderately productive in the pass game this year, making him a must have for PPR formats if he's available.

Cody Kessler - QB
Blake Bortles' year can be summed up in one word - turnover. The Jaguars have seemingly had enough and benched him in Sunday's loss to the Texans. Doug Marrone neither confirmed or denied Kessler taking over as starter, stating "it's open" when asked, but Kessler is still a good option to pick up and hold in case Bortles is benched for good.

Chad Kelly - QB
Kelly isn't a starter in week 8, but Case Keenum is one terrible game away from being benched, and Kelly is a gem for playoffs if he is given the reigns. He played terrific in the preseason and deserves a spot on your bench based on hope if you're in need of a solid QB for your playoffs.

Chris Ivory - RB
LeSean McCoy is once again on the injured list-this time in the concussion protocol. With Josh Allen still expected to be out for week 8, Ivory should see some meaningful attempts in a tough MNF game against the Patriots.
